Keeping Busy!

It's hard to believe that this school year has already passed.  Dalton completed his freshman year of high school and is taking college classes this summer.  He will get credit at college and high school for the summer semester.  If all works out according to his plan he will be close to an associates degree by the time he graduates from high school.

Morgan is busy recuperating from her broken elbow (radial head fracture) that she sustained the week after school let out.  Her summer is not completely ruined, the cast only has to be on for three weeks.  It will however be in place for the wedding on June 20th.  She is a bridesmaid and therefore got a cast in a coordinating color to match her dress.  I will have to post pictures after the wedding to 1.) show that Morgan does on occasion wear a dress and 2.) that a cast can be a fashionable accessory in any wedding.

Kevin is still plucking away at his classes one at a time.  He is currently taking algebra online.  I am not sure how much math is getting done lately while watching the Dodger games though.

We will take a short vacation at the end of July when Dalton's semester is over.  It was a unanimous vote to attend Spirit West Coast again this year.  Everyone had a great time and we are going to stay a few extra days in Santa Cruz this time.  I can hardly wait to have a week off to just relax and get away.

Award Winning Cakes

Here they are, the two first place cakes that the kids made for their school carnival. The first place cakes are all put in the silent auction. Guess who bought these cakes. Yep, Dad bought them back!

Land of the Free, Home of the Brave!

Although my story is not as dramatic as Tara's ordeal, it was somewhat frustrating. We arrived to vote and while looking at the back of the sample ballot to ascertain which table was our sign-in area, we were of course approached by a poll worker. This was not a problem, he was just being helpful, but he had a slight odor that was enhanced by the stifling heat in the building. The woman at the sign-in table had coke bottle glasses and had to get about 3" from the page to read our names. While we were going through the formalities, the previous man asked if we were computer savvy and would one of us like to try the new electronic machine. Of course we said yes, I had read about this trial run of the machines in our local paper and was eager to see how it all worked. He went to get it ready as we were receiving our ballots. As we watched and waited, 3 or 4 other poll workers joined him at the machine and all appeared to be somewhat at a loss of how to operate the machine. The co

UOP - Organizational SWOT Analysis: A Scholarly Project

Organizational SWOT Analysis Developed in the late 1960s, the SWOT analysis, representing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, has be used to evaluate a project or business. This evaluation can then be used in the development of a decision-making plan of action based on the findings in each area. The SWOT matrix is broken down into positive and negative characteristics or elements that are either helpful or harmful to the established objective (Yoder-Wise, 2015). A SWOT analysis of the organization reveals that the strengths include having a long history and positive reputation within the community, providing comprehensive services, being a recognized teaching facility, a geographically central location with easy access, and a strong commitment to the community. Although not specifically defined within the mission and vision statements for Community Medical Centers (CMC), quality is inferred in its desire to improve the health status of the community it serves.
