UOP - Organizational SWOT Analysis: A Scholarly Project

Organizational SWOT Analysis Developed in the late 1960s, the SWOT analysis, representing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, has be used to evaluate a project or business. This evaluation can then be used in the development of a decision-making plan of action based on the findings in each area. The SWOT matrix is broken down into positive and negative characteristics or elements that are either helpful or harmful to the established objective (Yoder-Wise, 2015). A SWOT analysis of the organization reveals that the strengths include having a long history and positive reputation within the community, providing comprehensive services, being a recognized teaching facility, a geographically central location with easy access, and a strong commitment to the community. Although not specifically defined within the mission and vision statements for Community Medical Centers (CMC), quality is inferred in its desire to improve the health status of the community it serves. Paso Robles Wine Country

The weather was gorgeous and the wine was even better. Kevin and I had the opportunity to spend the weekend at the coast and take a wine tour. Special thanks to Rotta Winery for their hospitality and personal tour for our group! I finally got to taste all of their wines and came home with more bottles than I care to admit.

Keeping Busy!

It's hard to believe that this school year has already passed.  Dalton completed his freshman year of high school and is taking college classes this summer.  He will get credit at college and high school for the summer semester.  If all works out according to his plan he will be close to an associates degree by the time he graduates from high school. Morgan is busy recuperating from her broken elbow (radial head fracture) that she sustained the week after school let out.  Her summer is not completely ruined, the cast only has to be on for three weeks.  It will however be in place for the wedding on June 20th.  She is a bridesmaid and therefore got a cast in a coordinating color to match her dress.  I will have to post pictures after the wedding to 1.) show that Morgan does on occasion wear a dress and 2.) that a cast can be a fashionable accessory in any wedding. Kevin is still plucking away at his classes one at a time.  He is currently taking algebra online.  I am not sure how mu

Hey Batter, Batter - Swing!

The title pretty much sums up our lives for the past month and a half.  Between the two kids we are at ball games three to four times a week, not to mention the games on MLB extra innings.  This family can watch a ball game 24/7 !!! Dalton is playing baseball on the high school JV team in the catcher's position.  He is playing really well this year.  After getting his eyes checked and a new pair of contacts, he had 5 RBI's by the 3rd inning last Tuesday! Morgan is playing softball on the junior high team, she also is in the catcher's position.  She hit a home run at her game today and of course I didn't have my camera.  I'll have to see if Kevin will take some photos because I am the designated scorekeeper at all the baseball games.

Cooler Nights = Quilting

If you would like to curl up under this quilt with your favorite book and a cup of hot chocolate, contact Immanuel High School. This quilt will be up for auction on November 1st at their dinner auction fundraiser. We will see if this quilt can beat the little league quilt that sold for $2100. I will consider requests for special orders from family, friends and non-profit organizations.

WHO KNEW ?

Well, you can't always trust what you see on television. I'm sure you've seen COPS on television and see them haul people off to jail for fighting and physical assault / battery. Well, it doesn't really work that way. The attacked person has to actually press charges, even if there is visual evidence such as a torn shirt, bruising to the arm, etc. They can only haul in the agressor if it is a domestic dispute or when the parties involved live under the same roof. So, needless to say, some of us were very upset to find out that there was nothing the cop was going to do other than give a "stern" warning. Obviously the agressor has also watched COPS, because when the officer began to question her regarding the incident, she denied everything and then claimed to be a diabetic having a hypoglycemic episode. You would expect that since this happened at work the employer would be responsible to take some kind of action as well. Anyways, if you have a co-worker that b

School Days

Can you believe that the whole family is in school right now? Dalton started high school this year and Morgan is in seventh grade. They are growing up way too fast! In addition to juggling their schedules with school events, sports and homework projects, Kevin and I are both taking classes. Kevin is taking Spanish this semester to become bilingual. Actually, he is finally starting to get some of his general ed requirements. I have been after him for a long time, but he says he isn't looking to promote and hasn't shown much interest in a degree until recently. Never say never though; you don't know what God has planned for your future. Only two classes left for me and then I'll be able to apply to the Physician Assistant program; chemistry and microbiology. Hopefully some of the classes will also apply towards my bachelor's degree and then maybe a master's degree.
