Hey Batter, Batter - Swing!

The title pretty much sums up our lives for the past month and a half. Between the two kids we are at ball games three to four times a week, not to mention the games on MLB extra innings. This family can watch a ball game 24/7 !!!

Dalton is playing baseball on the high school JV team in the catcher's position. He is playing really well this year. After getting his eyes checked and a new pair of contacts, he had 5 RBI's by the 3rd inning last Tuesday!

Morgan is playing softball on the junior high team, she also is in the catcher's position. She hit a home run at her game today and of course I didn't have my camera. I'll have to see if Kevin will take some photos because I am the designated scorekeeper at all the baseball games.

Award Winning Cakes

Here they are, the two first place cakes that the kids made for their school carnival. The first place cakes are all put in the silent auction. Guess who bought these cakes. Yep, Dad bought them back!

Although my story is not as dramatic as Tara's ordeal, it was somewhat frustrating. We arrived to vote and while looking at the back of the sample ballot to ascertain which table was our sign-in area, we were of course approached by a poll worker. This was not a problem, he was just being helpful, but he had a slight odor that was enhanced by the stifling heat in the building. The woman at the sign-in table had coke bottle glasses and had to get about 3" from the page to read our names. While we were going through the formalities, the previous man asked if we were computer savvy and would one of us like to try the new electronic machine. Of course we said yes, I had read about this trial run of the machines in our local paper and was eager to see how it all worked. He went to get it ready as we were receiving our ballots. As we watched and waited, 3 or 4 other poll workers joined him at the machine and all appeared to be somewhat at a loss of how to operate the machine. The co
