Spirit West Coast 2008

If you like music with a message and 3 days of concerts, then Spirit West Coast is the place for you. We spent last week at Laguna Seca just off the Monterey coast rocking out for 3 days. There were concerts for every age group, including Veggieland for the little kids. Most of our time was spent at the heavy rock stage with groups like Kutlass, Seventh Day Slumber, Hawk Nelson, Skillet and Thousand Foot Krutch. I was even tempted to venture into the mosh pit, but then common sense took hold and my crazy thought quickly passed. We will definitely make plans to go again next year. Mark your calendar, tickets go on sale in March 2009!

Before coming home we spent some time in Monterey, visiting the aquarium and eating at Bubba Gump's. Brittany, our neice, had never been to the aquarium and it gave me the chance to experiment with my camera settings. I was able to get a few pictures without flash on a fast enough speed that are actually recognizable.

Land of the Free, Home of the Brave!

Although my story is not as dramatic as Tara's ordeal, it was somewhat frustrating. We arrived to vote and while looking at the back of the sample ballot to ascertain which table was our sign-in area, we were of course approached by a poll worker. While we were going through the formalities, the previous man asked if we were computer savvy and would one of us like to try the new electronic machine. Of course we said yes, I had read about this trial run of the machines in our local paper and was eager to see how it all worked. He went to get it ready as we were receiving our ballots. As we watched and waited, 3 or 4 other poll workers joined him at the machine and all appeared to be somewhat at a loss of how to operate the machine. The co

UOP - Organizational SWOT Analysis: A Scholarly Project

Organizational SWOT Analysis Developed in the late 1960s, the SWOT analysis, representing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, has be used to evaluate a project or business. This evaluation can then be used in the development of a decision-making plan of action based on the findings in each area. The SWOT matrix is broken down into positive and negative characteristics or elements that are either helpful or harmful to the established objective (Yoder-Wise, 2015). A SWOT analysis of the organization reveals that the strengths include having a long history and positive reputation within the community, providing comprehensive services, being a recognized teaching facility, a geographically central location with easy access, and a strong commitment to the community. Although not specifically defined within the mission and vision statements for Community Medical Centers (CMC), quality is inferred in its desire to improve the health status of the community it serves.
